We’re Celebrating Dr. Clay’s 10th Year on Staff with 10 Revealing Questions for Him
Dr. Barclay “Clay” Weisberg joined the Weisberg Dental Team 10 years ago–July 2006. He has brought cutting edge technology into the office along with his his great education and attention to detail. These have made life changing differences in patient care.
Dr. Clay works hard…but knows how to play hard too! So we decided to ask him some questions to get a peek into what happens when he’s not in the office.
Where did you go to college and dental school?
- Brown University
- Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry
- Residency at University of Florida, St Petersburg
What do you enjoy doing to stay fit?
Hot yoga, lifting weights, yard fit (a workout typically designed by my wife which most recently involved moving 240 cu ft. of rock, putting down weed paper, and then putting the rocks back in the same site; she is amazing at designing insane workouts like this!). These activities help keep me in good enough shape so I can play–kiting, surfing, and paddle boarding.
What is your most memorable family vacation?
Hand fishing the Great Barrier Reef. We got a really good deal, should have asked if it included fishing poles. Once we adjusted to the tools available, we had a blast!
What is your favorite holiday?
Any day where I have the opportunity to be with my family. They are amazing! I feel so fortunate.
Where is the farthest you have traveled?
South Africa. Beautiful place! It was a kiting trip with my wife a couple years ago. It was an amazing adventure; she killed it kiting in the ocean down there. We got engaged a couple weeks after that trip.
What would you sing at karaoke night?
Kite Song. It’s a parody of Rachel Platten’s Fight Song. Yes, I did actually take the time to rewrite the lyrics–it’s awesome! If that one is not on the play list I would probably go with Can’t Feel My Face–The Weekend. For obvious reasons.
What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?
Jumped out of a perfectly good airplane in New Zealand. I didn’t share this adventure with my parents until I was safely back on the landing strip.
Who is someone you admire?
My parents. They are amazing! As my wife and I are expecting our first child it completely increases my respect for them. No matter what I read or how I train there is nothing that will prepare my wife and me for this upcoming adventure. My greatest hope is that I can give her the opportunities that my parents helped give me and that I can set the example that my parents set for me.
What is your favorite healthy snack and your favorite sweet treat?
My favorite healthy snack would be fresh peaches! The ones that when you bite into them the juice runs down your arm and starts to make a puddle on the floor. My favorite sweet treat is a layered chocolate cake. It is imperative to brush and floss after, but it is sooo good!
What is the best part of your job?
We have amazing patients. Seriously! I am so grateful to help them achieve their goal of a beautiful, healthy smile that will last a lifetime. It is really fun seeing everyone as they transition through different phases. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you!
