Dr. Clay Becomes a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association
We are proud to announce that one of our cosmetic dentists, Barclay Weisberg, DDS, has been named as a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association (VDA)! This is an honorable distinction that celebrates his steadfast dedication to the VDA and the field of dentistry. The award itself is inscribed: “Recognition of Notable Contributions and Devotion to the Advancement of the Art and Science of Dentistry and to this Association.” All of us at Eastern Virginia Family & Cosmetic Dentistry are thrilled to celebrate this career achievement with Dr. Clay.
The process for becoming a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association begins with a nomination at the local level, which in Dr. Clay’s case refers to the Tidewater Dental Association. The nomination is then submitted to the VDA Fellows Selection Committee and the nominee’s qualifications are reviewed to ensure they meet criteria for Fellow status. The criteria outlined in the Fellows Bylaws includes:
- At least seven years of active membership in the VDA.
- Active membership and devotion of service to the local component society (Tidewater Dental Association), the VDA, and the field of dentistry.
The final stage of becoming a fellow, once a nominee is deemed qualified, is an election by the VDA Fellows Selection Committee.
Dr. Clay is grateful for the support of his peers at the Tidewater Dental Association and the men and women on the VDA Fellows Selection Committee. He looks forward to many more years of service and dedication to the mission of the VDA and the profession of dentistry.
